TURKANA TRUCK EXPEDITION
NAIROBI- LAKE BARINGO-SOUTH HORR-LOIYANGALANI-LAKE TURKANA-MARALAL- SAMBURU-
MT. KENYA -NAIROBI

Lake Turkana is on the northern part of Kenya on the bounder of Kenya and Sudan. The expedition is more of scenic viewing with game viewing in Samburu only. The safari covers approximately 1700 km through the lonely desert occasioned by a few shrubs and hills. Lake Turkana, also known as the "Jade Sea" is reached on the third day after departing from Nairobi. The safari is ideal for those in search of a real adventure.
Day 1 Nairobi - Lake Baringo
Depart from Nairobi by 0930 hrs for a drive through the farming area of Limuru and into he Great Rift Valley. Lunch at Nakuru and then drive to Lake Baringo via Lale Bogoria. Set up a camp at Lake Baringo for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 Lake Baringo - South Horr.
After early breakfast, break camp and climb out of the rift valley. Drive through Losiolo and Baragoi and arrive South Horr late evening. Set up camp near a small stream.
Day 3 South Horr-Lolyangalani
Another day of driving through the lava flows, which take us to the lake. Arrive in the evening and camp at Lolyangalani.
Day 4 Lake Turkana
A free day at Lake Turkana. Options. Morning walk, a visit to the El Molo Village at an extra cost.
Day 5 Lake Turkana - Maralal.
After breakfast break up camp and drive up the Horr Valley through Baragoi and camp at Maralal.
Day 6 Maralal - Samburu
Another morning drive to the south where we reach Samburu by lunchtime. Set up camp and go for game viewing.
Day 7 Samburu - Mt. Kenya
After breakfast, morning games drive and return to the camp for lunch. Afternoon drive to Mt. Kenya area and camp at a base camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 Mt. Kenya - Nairobi.
If weather permits, a 3-hour walk to the magnificent Mau Mau Caves and Burguret waterfalls will be provided. After lunch drive to Nairobi and arrive late afternoon.
